It all started the day I realized I could hear the music in the walls. Not metaphorically, mind you—literal sounds. The deep hum of a violin, a snare drum, and something resembling a piano being played underwater. I was alone in my Parisian studio, doors locked, headphones off. Yet the music kept playing.
I’ve always been a bit eccentric, a trait I probably inherited from my great-great-grandfather—Vlad Tepes. My grandmother would tell me stories about the noble blood running through my veins, tales so elaborate I almost believed I might wake up one day with fangs.
Then it happened. The walls cracked. A glowing ball rolled out, and a woman’s voice echoed, “Catch it, or you’ll never leave.” As I lunged for it, everything went black.
I woke up somewhere else. A judge said, “Your grandmother was the champion of the Battle of Wires. Now, it's your turn.”
I looked at the strange instrument in my hands and realized—I wasn’t competing against her. I was surviving my bloodline’s legacy.
