Where the waters meet

I’m only a few hours-old and already have a favorite activity: napping with my Daddy ❤️ Mommy thought she’d have him all to herself now that my siblings have all grown up but nooo, here I am and one of the reasons is Heliodora the sweet biscuit 🐰 who knew I was meant to arrive sooner or later. Look at what she did for me!

Anyway mommy, never forget to make a spot for me unless you want me to kick you out of the bed!

Then there’s my godfather uncle Scotch 🐻 who designed a special room for me. Godfather, yes. You can see it on our official IDs:

Mommy says he can seem like a careless prankster but it’s just a facade to hide his gigantic pure heart and not to make it a prey for random passing people. He’s been one of her strongest supports and accomplices for her entire life(s), making her feel safe and alright whatever happens. Daddy says the same even if he claims otherwise in public. Grownup masquerades, duh!

And then there are my sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, each of whom deserves a blog on their own. I was also named after one stunning writer so I could honor the legacy and scribbled their portraits one by one with the help of my Daddy.

So back to my Daddy. He’s a daydreamer, stubbornly living his life in a world extinguished a long time ago or maybe the one that existed only in his imagination but who can blame him for that? I can’t. He says he feels wingless whenever apart from his kids so I’ll be his wings and follow him like his shadow, always. He knows more South African tales and lullabies than mommy (!) and together we’ll craft new ones.
