Spending the week at our picturesque estate in Porto, we are enjoying leisurely days along the tranquil banks of the Douro River. Each morning begins with golden sunlight spilling over the weathered stone terrace, illuminating the vibrant flowers in pots that adorn the area.
My husband is truly in his element, reclining into the plush cushions of an outdoor sofa, savoring a well-earned victory in the stock market with satisfaction and pride. Not aware of his wifeys heart is melting watching him enjoying his business from afar.
While I'm trying my best to resist the oh-gosh-so-hard-to-resist-porto-wines during this visit, I try to keep my focus on the tempting ripe grapes hanging from the vine in the backyard. Good thing, they look almost irresistible, especially since I have to abstain from my beloved reds while being nearly five months pregnant.
Our evenings here are truly magical and remain my favorite part of the day. As the sun sets, the river transforms into a shimmering tapestry of molten gold, and we watch yachts slice gracefully through the water in the distance, leaving a gentle wake behind them. The soothing sounds of nature and the distant sounds of my little ones create a peaceful backdrop, and the warmth of my man's arms wrapping me, making it feel as if only my love, our children, and I inhabit this beautiful world.
