Time is a funny thing
Funny in that cruel, cosmic-joke kind of way.
And I know for a fact that, right now, time is definitely not on my side. I’ve become the cold, distant one. The one who couldn’t understand. The one who couldn’t — or wouldn’t — just let it go.
The surface always looks so calm. So neat. So perfectly deceitful. Nobody sees the hours spent spiraling. Nobody hears the questions that never got answers. Nobody notices the suffocating silence that swallowed everything I did say.
Because believe me — I said it all. I was honest. Maybe too honest. I laid it all out, every time. And every time, all I got back was... nothing.
And you know what? I tried. I really tried. Until it finally hit me — sometimes silence isn’t the absence of an answer. Sometimes it is the answer.
And yeah, maybe one day time will absolve me.
Or maybe it won’t. Maybe it was never supposed to.
Truth is, I’m not looking for absolution anyway.
I’m just looking for forgiveness.
For myself.
Because I don’t have anyone else left to forgive.
The signs were always there — and people never change.
So there is no one left to blame, but me. I was the one who kept choosing to look away.
To hope.
To believe.
Over and over.
So yeah.
