Saying she was nervous was a huge understatement, but now with that towel on her head and the box dye rinsed out already, there was really no going back anymore.

Mizuki had wanted to dye her hair for the longest time, but with her dad's reminding her how pretty her dark hair was, it had always proved difficult. Hypocrites, really, considering they would also get their hair changed every once in a while, but when it came to them, there were different rules that seemed to apply. She was fifteen though, wasn't that old enough to decide for herself how she wanted to present?

Surely and her aunt would probably approve if she would have been there, so it all had happened without her dads knowing.

Getting the box dyes they would need and inviting Mina over while her dads were out on one of their business trips had been easy and with the other girl around, Mizuki had known she'd be in the best hands.
It had taken the whole afternoon, considering they had needed to bleach her hair first, as well as a lot of shared giggles and silly selfies. There were snacks and empty soda cans spread all over the bathroom, but slowly their experiment was nearing its end.

The perfect afternoon to forget about school, hopefully with the perfect outcome.

"How did it turn out?", the younger wanted to know, glancing at the girl to her side, busy drying her hair. They had hung the mirror, so she couldn't see, but the smile on the other girl's lips already told her what she needed to know.

"Thank you, you're really the best."

Sure, she'd still have to find a way to tell her dads, but that was something she'd be taking care of later.
