This Halloween, I'm dressing up as Sophia's favorite, Helen of Troy. You may have heard of her during your trips to find true beauty in Greece... You may also be wondering, is Helen sexy or scary? To this I say, it's in the eye of the beholder!
Sexy: I mean, she's Helen of Troy. The face that launched a thousand ships. She was a daughter of Zeus. Men at the sight of her seem to have lost all capability of rational thought, driven purely by lust and greed. Even two goddesses so upset at the idea that Paris would choose Aphrodite in order to be with Helen that they joined forces with the Greeks against Troy! She has also been known as a symbol of true beauty to artists around the world (take that Aphrodite). So it seems that Helen of Troy was very very hot. ️🔥
Scary: To the thousands of soldiers who fought in the Trojan war during a decade long siege all because their leaders were obsessed with Helen... I'd say she was pretty scary. Plus, after Paris's death during the fall of Troy, she is taken by his brother Deiphobus, but she hides his weapons so he can be killed during the assault. I can't say that I blame her. Helen is not to be trifled with... 😨
So which is it? I think maybe Helen was both sexy and scary. I see her as woman trying to lead her life by her own terms, despite what the men in her life want for her.
