Today is Nessa’s birthday. Last night I was hammered, like, can’t feel my face hammered. I thought I’d surprise her with something epic but my brain was fried!
I woke up at 4 am with this brilliant idea, I’m gonna steal a hot dog cart and roll it through downtown Brussels blasting Happy Birthday on a stereo.
Genius, right?
I stumble out, find the cart ,some poor dude left it unattended, and start pushing it like I’m on a drunk parade float.
Of course, the cart’s got no petrol, so I push it like a maniac, honking a horn and shouting tourists out of my way.
I’m shouting Birthday vibes! Birthday vibes! like a maniac.
People are staring, some laughing, some calling the cops. The boombox starts crackling but somehow, it’s playing “Beneath it All” distorted and loud as hell.
At one point, I realize I forgot to get Nessa. So I call her on speaker, and she hears the chaos. She’s shouting her ass off, telling me I’m mental but to come meet her.
I push that damn cart all the way to the hotel, covered in ketchup and mustard (don’t ask how), with a rogue cat that somehow jumped on the cart as my co pilot.
When I get there, Nessa’s waiting, rolling on the floor laughing. I hand her a hot dog (which is cold and disgusting, but hey, it’s the thought that counts) and she kisses me, telling me it’s the most ridiculous birthday surprise ever, and she loves me for it.
So yeah, I was drunk, stupid, and borderline arrested... but somehow, I pulled off the wildest birthday celebration on zero budget and a heart full of love for this woman!
