birds of a feather. (∞)
Years and years ago, when I was a bright eyed teenager, I had attended a concert of a
band whose music was familiar and one that I always found myself drawn to. I don't remember a lot from the night, but I do remember seeing
you on stage and pinching myself; listening to you sing and thinking he sounds just like a
bluebird.
I sang your songs with you at the top of my lungs, swayed with the crowd and walked out with a band t-shirt that became one of my most cherished items. One that I haven't taken off since London. And I thought to myself, I wish I could meet him some day; this heavenly bluebird.
My wish had come true, not long after, when I met you backstage - we didn't know it then, that our fates were aligned. No, we were two people who loved music and I; a fan that never stopped listening.
And as the years went on, music beckoned me enough to get on stage with friends too, eating up the dust of that world before I set my microphone aside. But I never stopped listening and though there were many bands I admired there was something about your voice that had me holding onto to that shirt for over 15 years.
So when you asked me to join recently my love, it was an elated
yes.
That teen me would be losing her mind right about now.. for never in a million years did I imagine that
I, would be a
High Flying Bird too. That I would share a stage with
you.
Baby, it's your birthday but you have this habit of constantly bestowing me with the gifts. My bluebird, my eternal constant; I love nothing more than the life we are building; but none of it could have been possible without your beautiful heart.
Happy Birthday my love & I cannot wait for what this next chapter has in store for us.
