Have you ever stopped to think about what luck really is?
Luck: It is the occurrence of positive and beneficial events that happen unexpectedly, often by pure chance.
I find myself reflecting on how lucky I am. I swear I think about it every single day of my life—there isn’t one day I don’t thank Kobe for the luck I’ve had. People say we make our own luck, but for me it wasn’t quite like that. Ever since I met you, everything has conspired in my favor—especially in love. You became my greatest treasure, my safe haven, and the very air I breathe.
Nothing compares to the peace of being by your side, with no one around to disturb us, to steal our calm, or to lessen the luck we share, right?
On so many occasions—whether during a trip on our private jet or gazing out from the window of one of the city’s most luxurious hotels—I find myself remembering everything we’ve lived through. It’s impossible not to get emotional, even though I hide it well. After all, I’ve always been the “tough one.” Yet, in the middle of our jokes and laughter, we’re like two teenagers causing mischief.
With you, I learned that love is exactly this: being a child and an adult at the same time, mixing immaturity and maturity, living the madness but never losing our sense. It’s being cliché while also reinventing love every day. It’s having lazy days where we do nothing at all, or going out for an expensive dinner, but always being willing to give your very best to the one you love. Love can be everything or it can be nothing—because, in the end, love itself is not more important than the person you love. Many say love is everything, but I’ve learned that’s not true… because my everything, truly, is you.
