the universe in our hands (mes chéris bébés, Aurora et Atlas)
To my beautiful daughter Aurora and my precious son Atlas;
They say nothing prepares you for motherhood, that it's unlike any other feeling you have experienced before. Maman had told me the same and it was only when I felt the miracle that is both of you my angels, moving inside me - seeing you both on screen and hearing your heartbeats that I could understand what that meant.
Yet little did I know, that was just the beginning.
Because now, with you both in my arms, as I look at you both, I feel like my heart is about to jump out of its ribcage with the love that fills and overflows within it - no, nothing could have prepared me for this.
You are both the greatest surprise and love of our lives; the fruits of a love that has ebbed and flowed for more than 10 years - and our greatest gift and joy. I have loved the stars for as long as I can remember, loved your father even more; but you my beautiful babies, I don't know that there is a limit to the love that I feel for you.
You are the universe in our palms, and the luckiest little human beings here on earth side to have so many people who have been waiting for your arrival.
But most of all my beautiful angels, there is your father - the one whose eyes lit up brighter than the moon when we found out we were having you. The one who holds my hand through the storm and whispers sweet melodies in the calm, the one who has been sleepless for weeks in an effort to make sure everything was perfect for when you grace our lives.
The one who will no doubt be the compass in your lives as he is to me, while I will do my best to be the light that guides you with my love.
