I don't need fake love and drama (I)

Danas had always been the kind of man who valued decency, integrity, and honesty. Life had tested him more times than he cared to remember, but he never let bitterness take root. Despite the countless challenges, his moral compass remained unwavering, guiding him through life's harshest storms.

From an early age, he had learned that pain didn't have to break you: it could shape you. After surviving a brutal attack by a dog as a child, one that left scars on his face and back, Danas made a vow to himself: never let fear or resentment dictate his life. It was that resolve that carried him through his parents' death, through grueling years in medical school, and even through the breakdown of his own marriage.

But this time, the wound wasn't physical. This time, it was his heart that bore the brunt of betrayal.

Karolina had entered his life like a fresh breeze, a spark that made him believe happiness might finally be within reach. For a moment, Danas allowed himself to think that perhaps his long streak of loneliness was over. She seemed to understand his bruised soul, to accept him as he was, scars and all.

But that belief didn't last.

It wasn't long before Karolina's true nature revealed itself. She was one of those people who mistook his kindness for weakness, his patience for naivety. She flirted openly with other men, expecting Danas to react, to chase after her, to plead for her attention. She wanted him to feel insecure, to fight for her as if his love needed constant proof.

She had sorely misjudged him.

Danas wasn't a man who thrived on jealousy or games. Real love, to him, wasn't about competing for affection or proving one's worth through drama. Love, in his mind, should be peaceful: two people standing side by side, not one constantly running ahead while the other tried to catch up.
